It took me a few weeks to realise that America was getting nowhere with their attack on Iran – an attack I thought justified by the circumstances. Iran’s governing elite are Islamic barbarians who brutalise their people. The people should be freed from their brutalisation. It took a few more weeks to understand that the Iranians had long expected such an attack and were prepared for it.

The Iranians – most of the population see themselves as Persians – are not stupid people. They saw through Trump, who many people, including erstwhile supporters like me, are starting to think is right off his head – to put it mildly.
