Below is a highly laudatory review by Daniel Herborn that appeared 7 September 2026 on ABC online (where else?) of a YA (Young Adult) book, BAD QUEER. YA caters for children from 12 to 18 years. BAD QUEER was published in March 2026 by Allen & Unwin, which tells you what sort of publisher Allen & Unwin is and what sort of editorial team they have, which is likely to be 100% female.
The book, the publisher, and the (female) editorial team are yet another demonstration of how far Australia has corrupted from the standards, principles, moral outlook, language, and rationality that prevailed until around thirty years ago.
Mourn Australia and hope someone will have the backbone to take steps to restore our nation.

Bad Queer by Gayathiri Kamalakanthan and Chi Nwosu tells affirming coming-of-age story

Surya feels like a bad queer. When an ice cream man misgenders them, they stay silent.
“I pray for a sharper tongue,” they think when a classmate harasses them for not looking like either a boy or a girl.
Surya is the protagonist of Bad Queer, a young adult novel-in-verse written by London-based Gayathiri Kamalakanthan and illustrated by Chicago artist Chi Nwosu.
Coming into their final year at school, Surya has come out to their parents, who are queer and non-binary, and their close friend Maha, but not to everyone.
They’re also yet to have their first romantic relationship.
