‘Noble Savage’ Dreaming

Peter Purcell, Quadrant, May 12 2026

The recent murder of a young girl in Alice Springs has raised, yet again, the spectre of Aboriginal domestic violence. It’s not new, of course.  The appalling levels of physical and sexual violence against Aboriginal women and children have been known for a long time.

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has spoken courageously about this problem for years. Louis Nowra’s 2007 Bad Dreaming sought to collect statistical and anecdotal evidence to attract attention to the scale of this national tragedy. Various investigations this century have found that sexual assault of children in Aboriginal communities was widespread, affecting both girls and boys:

♦ Child sexual assaults in the NT were four times the national average

♦ In Queensland, 10% of male Aboriginal youths were raped before they were 16

♦ In WA, the occurrence of gonorrhoea among Aboriginal children 10 to 14 years old was 186 times that of the general population

♦ In the NT, 30% of 13-year-old girls had gonorrhoea or chlamydia.

Nor is this problem limited to remote communities. In New South Wales, the Task Force found that child abuse was so widespread that no family in the 29 rural and urban communities surveyed had escaped its touch.

Contrary to blaktivist propaganda, the greatest threats to the lives of Aboriginal Australians are not white policemen but other Aboriginal Australians. Statistics spread across decades show the awful and unchanging reality. From 1989 to 2000, Aboriginal people were 15.1% of homicide victims in Australia and 15.7 of all homicide offenders, despite being about 3% of the population. Between 1989 and 2012, 951 Indigenous Australians were murdered, 765 of them (80%) by other Indigenous Australians, with a further 504 being victims of domestic violence.

Between 1989 and 2023, 476 Australian Indigenous women were homicide  victims, seven times the national average. Almost all were killed by someone they knew (97%), most by their Indigenous male intimate partner (66%). Some 70% of Aboriginal people in jail are there for crimes of violence against their loved ones. Nor have the adults managed to contain this violence among themselves: in 2007-11, 26% of deaths among Aboriginal children were from physical abuse.

Feminism to Forlorn Men: Go Hang

Bettina Arndt, Quadrant, May 06 2026

Last Christmas, one of Australia’s major suicide prevention groups had a call from a very distressed, suicidal man. The counsellor did his best to support him and arranged to keep in touch. But there was no answer to the counsellor’s follow up calls. Following their organisation’s duty of care rules, the counsellor made a call to NSW police, fearing the man was at imminent risk of harm.

The police reaction was shocking. “Is there a female partner who could be at risk? Is he likely to hurt her,” asked the police officer, whose immediate concern was not checking on the man in crisis but rather assessing the risk that the suicidal man could be violent.

Welcome to the latest triumph of feminist policy innovation: a system that looks at the man standing on the edge of the abyss — the group dying by suicide at three times the rate of women — and decides the most urgent question to ask is not ‘How do we save you?’ but ‘Have you been hurting women?’ It is a policy of breathtaking intellectual dishonesty and moral inversion.

It all started in Victoria but could become official policy across the country The 2021 Victorian government’s MARAM Framework Document is prescribed for over 6,000 organisations and approximately 392,000 professionals in Victoria, including mental health, drug/alcohol, homelessness, family and health services.  The Framework is based on the premise that significant numbers of men who commit suicide each year have a history of using family violence. Responding to suicide risk “should consider the risk of the person using violence to themselves, their family and community,” explains the document.

White-Aboriginals

I’ve been pointing out for years that you cannot distinguish many people who claim to be Aboriginal from people with British ancestry. You even have people like lily-white Bruce Pascoe, who are proven to have not a jot of Aboriginal in them, prancing around in souvenir-shop fur and waving a K-mart spear. It would be a joke if there weren’t the serious question of power acquisition involved. These white-Aboriginals obviously have grown up and been educated in normal white Australian society. They’ve been given the playbook of Aboriginal agitation, which they mindlessly reel off at the slightest provocation.

Really, are they surprised at someone parodying their fakery?

What is the Australian character and culture?

Many Australians are reacting fiercely today to threats to Australia’s character and culture from ideological or national groups. What character and culture, some are asking? Indeed, the more extreme deny that such a character and culture exist. In the final chapter of my book, PRISON HULK TO REDEMPTION, I sketch what I understand as Australia’s character and culture.

*****

An excerpt from chapter 19, ‘Cultural Continuities in 1900’, Prison Hulk to Redemption, available through Amazon.

From the outset [of Prison Hulk to Redemption], I endeavoured to depict a new, independent nation emerging from Captain Phillip’s seminal act of planting the Union Jack in the soil of Sydney Cove. In a remarkably short time, the inaugural members of this new nation began to refer to their land and themselves as Australia and Australians, though still closely connected to their origins in the British Isles. The fiery and intemperate William Charles Wentworth embodied those who experienced no doubts about themselves and the new nation they were forging. But what, precisely, does this Australianness entail?

Australianness represents a profound modification of Britishness, the unifying culture of the British Isles—England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland—rooted in the broader culture of Christian Europe. Although Australians retained many traditions, customs, and social and political institutions from Great Britain, as well as the arts and literature, and were content to do so, their experiences led them to develop fundamentally distinct identities from their counterparts in the British Isles. The varied physical environment contributed to the emergence of a unique, independent expression of Britishness. Consequently, all traditions, customs, and institutions brought over by the First Fleet were transformed, regardless of how subtle these changes might sometimes have been. Although this transformation began as soon as Captain Phillip planted the British flag, it was not until the 1880s that overseas observers began to notice a distinctly Australian character.

It’s a total farce – a big con

Most of those calling themselves, or being called, Indigenous, First Nations (the preferred term because of its connotations), and less often Aboriginal, have demonstrably had the same upbringing and education in the same social environment as most Australians.

Their behaviour, speech and educational level give them away as belonging to the mass of the Australian population with the same social gradations. There are poor, white, uneducated people, as there are poor, uneducated people with Aboriginal ancestry, a great many of them indistinguishable in appearance from Australians with British and European backgrounds.

This is less a case of race relations than it is of the usurpation of power by one particular body, party, club – call it what you will – in Australia. And it’s hurried along at great speed by the Marxists in the ABC and SBS, the great apologists for all things woke. The ABC and SBS are on the frontline, promoting the First Nations coup, which aims to reshape Australia according to their concocted Aboriginal culture and history.

$1.48 million for fishing in the very best modern diving equipment? Nice work if you can get it – as the song goes.

Tell Pauline Hanson you’ll vote for One Nation if she and her party undertake to get rid of farces like this.

A grotesque man demonstrates our judicial insanity

Tell Pauline Hanson that you will vote for One Nation if she and her party reform the Human Rights Commission (sack the people there) and repeal the legislation that allows men to indiscriminately invade women’s spaces – including toilets, locker rooms and bathrooms.

Australia’s dominant political class needs to have huge doses of electric shock therapy.

Special War Crimes Tribunal for Russia

In this case, Australia has done the right thing. Putin and his mafia gang have to answer for their barbarism.

Embassy of Ukraine in Australia and New Zealand

Australia has joined the growing international effort to establish the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine as an Associate Member of the Enlarged Partial Agreement.

On 16 May in Chișinău, during the Council of Europe Ministerial Session, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted a decision approving the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the establishment of the Management Committee of the Special Tribunal – one of the key elements of its institutional architecture.

The adoption of this decision became possible thanks to notifications of intent to join the Agreement submitted by 34 Council of Europe member states, the European Union, Costa Rica, and Australia.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha described the decision as another important step toward the practical launch of the international accountability mechanism for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

“We are consistently moving toward the full-fledged launch of the Special Tribunal. This is yet another signal that the international community is determined to ensure the inevitability of accountability for the crime of aggression,” the Minister stressed.

The Enlarged Partial Agreement remains open not only to Council of Europe member states, but also to third countries, creating further opportunities to broaden global support for the Special Tribunal.

We highly appreciate Australia’s principled support for international law, justice, and accountability.

Migrant enclaves changing the character of Australia

Freya Leach, for John Anderson Media, gives an excellent presentation below. We need more of it. In several softly probing interviews, she shows how aggressive Islam is. It’s the same throughout the West. The core authority of Muslim communities dictates their policy goals, which are fundamentally to enforce all aspects of Islamic culture.

It’s interesting to hear one interviewed student say that Australia is a monoculture, meaning migrants form cultural enclaves so that we’re not a multicultural country of different people with different cultural backgrounds, but one of monocultural tribes. He gave the example of Chatswood.

My father’s family settled in Chatswood from the country. They were pioneering people. I went to school in Chatswood. We had friends in Chatswood, and so on. It is now an Asian enclave, hardly recognisable as the suburb it once was. You’ll meet people there behind shop counters who barely speak English. The equivalent in Melbourne is Box Hill, also an Asian enclave. Box Hill shopping centre is like another country – an Asian country.

Many migrant cultures don’t mix. And they don’t want to. It’s obvious. The migrants who blend best with the Australian population are from the UK and other European countries. If you look at the migration figures of the last twenty years, you’ll find a sharp switch from the UK and Europe to Asia and the Middle East, especially to migrants from India and China. Migration has changed, and continues to change, the character of Australia. It’ll soon be more than Auburn where an ordinary Australian will feel out of place.

Is it racist to want your country to maintain its character and foundational principles? If so, then all countries with any pride at all are racist – particularly India, China, and that whole worming batch of Middle Eastern countries, who would not for one moment tolerate a suburb of white Australians in their midst.

The Greens, TEALs, and Labor are very selective in their accusations of racism – as are their propagandist mouthpieces, the ABC and SBS.

White bad. All the rest good.

Tell Pauline Hanson you’ll vote for One Nation if she and her party readjust the migrant intake, both as regards numbers and cultures.
